EXCURSION MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU AND OUARZAZATE
Aït Benhaddou is an ighrem (fortified village), along the former caravan route between the former region of Sudan and Marrakech in present-day Morocco. Most citizens attracted by the tourist trade live in more modern dwellings in a village on the other side of the river, although there are four families still living in the ancient village. Inside the walls of the ksar are half a dozen or merchant’s houses and other individual dwellings, and is a great example of Moroccan earthen clay architecture. Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou also serve as the perfect movie set for famous movies such as: Prince of Persia, A Man who would be king, Gladiator, Son Of God, Kundun and many more.
Ouarzazate is a city south of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, known as a gateway to the Sahara Desert. Its huge Taourirt Kasbah, home to a 19th-century palace, has views over the rugged local landscape, which features in several movies. Northwest is the fortified red-earth city of Aït Ben Haddou. Northeast is the rocky Todra Gorge. A road winds southeast through the Draa Valley’s lush palm groves to the desert.

Travelicious Review
I booked a 2 day and a 6 day private tour around Morocco. Hands down the best decision for a stress free vacation. They took care of every detail and were super flexible to accommodate all our needs. Moha our tour guide and Mostafa our private driver spoke perfect english, they were out of their way to make us feel comfortable and enjoy our tour. Moha even brought us some Moroccan wine and helped me to do my laundry and anything I needed. Their hospitality was amazing and they treated us like family. Totally recommended for an amazing and stress free tour in Morroco.
