Fes – Ifrane – Barbary Magots – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
At 8 am Morocco In Tours will take you in a journey towards the southeast following the Caravan roads to the Berber village of Merzouga. During this journey you’ll experience the beauty of the Middle Atlas Mountains and the majestic High Altas Mountains . Stopping at the Cedar forest, the largest one in Morocco, over the Middle Atlas Mountains– where you will sight Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, you will continue through the large open high desert, and notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city Errachidia. Your journey continues along the luxuriant Ziz Valley and the Tafilalet date palm grove, famous for date cultivation. This area is the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty - the current ruling royal family in Morocco, since 350 years ago. You’ll arrive to Merzouga in the early afternoon, and then you will camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to spend a night under the nomad’s tents camp in the middle of the desert where the stuff of the camp will play Berber music for you while you dance around the fire under the Sahara stars. Overnight at a desert Luxury Camp with dinner and breakfast ( all your luggage will go on a 4x4 to your camp)
Merzouga – Rissani – Toudra Canyons – Dades
Early in the morning, the stuff at the camp will wake you up to watch what may be the best sunrise of your life and then you will camel trek back to the village to meet up with your Morocco In Tours driver. In the way back you couldn’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes - changing with the light as the day progresses. Leave for Rissani, where we will have a walk inside its ancient market – if time assists- then Todra gorges - the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as "monkey toes". Overnight In Dades
Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
At 8 am we will depart to Marrakech via the Rose Valley including a stop at a rose distillation Unit in order to get a clear idea of how rose is processed, then continue passing by the Skoura Palm grove and the road of 1000 Kasbahs to join Hollywood of Africa, the city of Ouarzazate, very well known for being the spot of the international movie makers and where famous movies were filmed such as “ The Mummy”,” Prince of Persia”, “Gladiator”. In Ouarzazate we will do a panoramic view overlooking the beautiful Kasbah Taourirt before we continue our way to the famous UNESCO World Heritage site Ksar or Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. A very wonderful fortified city that stands at the edge of a hill separated by a running Ounila river, where we will have lunch and a visit the beautiful kasbah. Travelicious Review
Amazing experience! My Husband and I went for a 5 days tour at the beginning of February. The weather was fabulous which made our tour more than we really hoped for. We started from Marrakech, stayed in a wonderful riad that Mohammed recommended and Latifa the Manager is an amazing person. After we had a tour around the Medina of Marrakech the next day we headed south, crossing the marvelous Atlas Mountains. We visited Hollywood of Morocco, Ouarazazate and Rose Valley. Our night under the tents in the middle of the Sahara desert was the highlight of the tour, Everyone we encountered was so friendly especially Mostafa and the guys at the camp. Mohammed made our tour really smooth and unforgettable, we highly recommend him as a guide in Marrakech and his company for a tour around Morocco. We will be back of course! Totally recommended for an amazing and stress free tour in Morroco.
